BHS ASSESSMENTS

We are a BHS Approved Training Centre, meaning that we can offer training towards BHS assessments as well meeting the high BHS Riding Centre approval requirements. For more information, please see the BHS Assessments page.

Currently, we provide training programmes, studentships, Challenge Awards, Horse Explorers and training on an individual basis to best meet individual's needs. To discuss your goals and requirements, please book an assessment lesson and email us so we can tailor sessions to you.

CHANGING LIVES THROUGH HORSES

We are also approved to run Changing Lives Through Horses on behalf of the BHS, so please see our Changing Lives Through Horses page.

CHALLENGE AWARDS and HORSE EXPLORERS AWARDS

We are going to start running the Challenge and Horse Explorer Awards on Saturday afternoons at 1.30-3pm starting 13th September. The course will run for 4 weeks.

The group sessions will be focusing on Stable Management and Horse Care, starting with the Introduction to Horse Care Award. This is suitable for anyone who wants to brush up on the basics or learn from scratch. The recommended start age is 12 years old – there is no maximum age!

We will be offering the awards at Bronze after this short-course. The completion of the Gold and Silver Ride Safe awards, this is the equivalent of BHS Stage 1 care and allows you to progress to BHS Stage 2 (an industry qualification which employers look for).

If you have already completed your Stage 1 and Ride Safe, then the Platinum course can help you to further your knowledge and, if you are aiming for industry qualifications, work towards BHS Stage 2 care.

The riding awards will be able to be undertaken in your riding lessons, with an extra charge to cover course materials and admin.

More information about the Challenge Awards (age 17 plus) can be found at: https://www.bhs.org.uk/go-riding-and-learn/recreational-awards/challenge-awards/
